Every life matters

YouTuber Jesse Ridgway and his wife, Ashley Ridgway, have committed one of the most despicable acts: taking the life of an innocent baby who was even more vulnerable due to a medical condition: Down Syndrome.

Furthermore, they are not stars, as many media outlets are mistakenly portraying them. And even if they were, it would not change anything regarding what they have done.

After learning that their baby had Down syndrome, Jesse and Ashley Ridgway decided to abort it, and as if that were not enough, they announced what they had done as something normal, across their social media channels.

They also expected the news to be received with joy and celebration, making this unfortunate situation even more bizarre.

The message this couple is sending with what they have just done is not only bizarre but extremely dangerous.

Beyond being an act of eugenics, it speaks to the character of both individuals and the horrific precedent they are setting as parents.

No one said that dealing with all the situations that arise with a child with Down syndrome is easy. That is understandable, but playing God by deciding who lives and who does not is, by far, evil.

So, let me see if I understand this right. You kill your child because it didn’t come into the world the way you wanted, but if it had arrived the way you wanted and an accident or some situation occurred that harmed them, would you have taken their life then, too?

This entire situation raises something even deeper: the dehumanization of the human being, the contempt for life, and yes, even if some still refuse to acknowledge it, the attack on the family as a fundamental institution of society.

Progress combined with degeneration is not progress. It is dehumanization and the loss of a society that is diluting itself amidst progressive policies that neither work nor will ever work.

How many more people like this couple have decided to take the lives of their children so as not to have any inconvenience or problems?

We live among monsters with friendly faces, and we still haven’t wanted to understand it.
