There is a conversation that is slowly gaining momentum, and I see that no one has noticed it.
Wokism, despite what many believe, is far from dead. It has remained alive and working quietly.
Unfortunately, many have not wanted to understand how the left works, and they are going to end up surprised once again.
Everything happening in the WNBA—thanks to the intervention of Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White, alongside other voices like Sophie Cunningham—is slowly paving the way not only for a conversation on how men are invading women’s spaces, but it is also reviving everything that movements like Black Lives Matter are and represent, where the victim card is pulled endlessly in absurd scenarios and contexts.
Recently, following an episode of violence against Sophie Cunningham and one of her teammates, DiJonai Carrington revived the absurd “white privilege” argument while wearing an ultra-blonde, straight-haired wig. The audacity.
What I am noticing is that this narrative of alleged discrimination is resurfacing right as the midterm elections are taking place.
One thing people need to understand once and for all is that politics is in everything—literally everything—and in politics, there is no such thing as a coincidence or accident.
At any moment—mark my words—they will choose DiJonai Carrington for an “African American resistance” or anti-racism campaign and frame her as the victim of a system, and so on and so forth. We already know how this will end. It is an argument they have overused.
The fact that the United States currently has an administration that has cut and halted progressive policies does not mean they are gone or that they aren’t being pushed further. Quite the opposite.
The engine of the left is resentment, and their silence is merely a warning of all the terrible things to come. When they are “attacked,” they step back, gather strength, and charge ruthlessly at anyone who dares to oppose them.
People continue to underestimate them, and that is a huge mistake.
I hope I am wrong, but everything I am perceiving fills me with dread. I fear the midterm elections are not going to be the success the Republicans are claiming they will be. Everyone has relied too much on the strength of President Donald Trump and hasn’t done everything they should and could have done.
For evil to prevail, stopping it isn’t enough. Being complicit through passivity and inaction is also a way of helping nefarious policies advance and devour everything in their path like the cancer they are.
I hope I’m wrong, but this conversation that started from a seemingly humorous initiative may not end as well and peacefully as many think.
